Roštiljijada is a synonym for the city of Leskovac. The idea of holding a barbecue festival was born in the 1960s, when the famous Leskovac barbecue school operated, to which the even more famous Dragi Bure belongs. The first Barbecue was held in 1965, but it was closed after only two years. It came to life again in 1990. Since then, this event has stood out for a short time and has grown from a modest party for the locals of Leskovac into one of the most visited and most popular in the region. The basic offer at the Grill consists of grilled specialties from Leskovac: kebabs, burgers, sausages, and in recent years, with the arrival of participants from other parts of Serbia, numerous roasters have appeared. The good mood and fun last from early afternoons to early mornings, with the trumpets of top masters of choke. And, from 8 pm until midnight, top tin orchestras and pop stars take turns on the big stage. In recent years, a part of unified stands in ethno style has been innovated, where souvenirs and ethno products from different parts of Serbia are sold and tourist promotional material is distributed. The event is accompanied by numerous professional lectures and attractive competitions. We should mention the competition of barbecue masters ""Miodrag Gligorijević - Bure"" and the competition of students of catering schools in preparing barbecue specialties. A special place is occupied by competitions for the largest burger in the world and the largest burger from the hand.
