""If God had anything against alcohol, would He make wine so good?"" This is how the famous Cardinal Richelieu expressed his love for wine. Dušan Janjić and Ljubiša Stošić are the main ""culprits"" for the birth of this basement. Their friendship dates back to their student days in Skopje. On that August day in 2005, Dušan and Ljubiša decided to crown their friendship and mutual love for viticulture with a common cellar. Their two families turned their love of wine into reality. Members of both families actively participate in all processes of the winery's work. With the center in Leskovac and Bujanovac, it was decided that the cellar must have the characteristics of southern Serbia, that with each sip of wine you can recognize the already far-famed southern temperament. The basement should have been named. Of course, the first association to the south of Serbia is the famous writer from Vranje, Bora Stanković, who portrayed southern Serbia in the most credible way, with all his habits, customs and authentic accent. The owners decided to name the basement ""Stari dani"" after the eponymous story of the most famous Vranje man. In order to fully follow the idea of wines from the south, the cellar ""Stari dani"" decided to station its vineyards in the area of southern Serbia. One near the winery, in the village of Rakovac, and the other near Leskovac, in the village of Zivkovo. The cellar of the winery, equipped with modern equipment, is located in a family house in the village of Rakovac near Bujanovac. Today, 90,000 liters of wine are produced annually from two 2,000-liter vessels. The combination of soil, climate and geographical position provide ideal conditions for growing some of the most popular grape varieties. Varieties that are grown are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Hamburg. The total area of the vineyard is 26 hectares, with a yield of 8 tons per hectare. Five types of wine are produced in the cellar every year. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends, Pinot Noir, white Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc, as well as Pinot Noir rosé wines are produced from red wines. The process starts from harvesting, continues with grape mulching and ends with work in the winery. What should be pointed out are the names of wines that are unique on the market. All names represent the south of Serbia and have a certain meaning that describes the character of the wine. 1. Dert (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) - misery, but also sentimental mood, sevdah. A sip of Derta represents a sip of the past and the scent of the old days, a moment of longing and a touch of stopped time. 2. Aber (Sauvignon blanc) - good voice. This wine will bring you love and hope that are embraced in a sip of freshness that sends a voice, a soft full voice, coming from the south. 3. Alal (Chardonnay) - blessing, good toast. The wine in which the soul washes, toasts to all good. With joy, raise your glass, with Alal let it be. 4. Basma (Pinot Noir) - velvet-like fabric. A wine that evokes tenderness, like velvet that provides warmth, basma tells an untold story. 5. Kalabalak (Pinot Noir) - crowd. A wine with which you will feel the noise and the song. Oro is playing, daire is heard, a huge calabash around you
