The sanctuary was opened in 2020. From the mayor of Oslen Roman Ivanov, I learned that research on the site was made in March (2020) by Georgi Ganetsovski - archaeologist and director of the Regional History Museum in Vratsa, and in late August by Mila Salahi, a rune researcher. Here is what the mayor of Oslen Krivodol Roman Ivanov shared: ""This area, called Pest, has been known for many years to the people of the village. In the area around it at the time, the animals were led to graze. In January this year, a young family from the village took us there (me and my wife) to explore the area. Walking in the area, we were impressed by strangely shaped crosses in the rocks, regular carvings and more. Forms that are not the result of erosion or exposure to wind and water. I am a geologist by education, so I have an idea of this type of activity on the rock massifs. In February, we took pictures, and I contacted Georgi Ganetsovski, showed him the pictures, and showed great interest. In early March, he and his colleague visited the area for the first time and found the image of a woman and a man on the rock. Then we started clearing the terrain and finding images and runes almost everywhere. Archaeologists then said it was an ancient sanctuary that covered a large area. Mrs. Salahi and she shared with me that this is a unique rock-cult complex, according to her, at least 13,000 years BC, and this dating is based on the signs she read. Mila Salahi managed to make a sanctuary plan based on the texts discovered on the spot. According to the plan, she even established the presence of a cromlech as part of the complex, the location of which is still kept secret.
