Sijarinska Banja is the pearl of southern Serbia. With a recognizable geyser and numerous springs of mineral water, it helps in the treatment of many diseases. In recent years, the state has been investing in facilities and roads in order to get as many tourists as possible to the spa. Nature did a great job here. A hot water geyser whose water column reaches a height of 8 meters, 18 natural mineral springs with different therapeutic properties and temperatures between 32 and 78 degrees, makes Sijarinska Banja unique in Europe. Based on the results obtained by a detailed analysis, the following was concluded: According to the water temperature, Sijarinska Banja has springs of cold, hypothermal, homeothermal and hyperthermal waters. According to the chemical composition, the content of hydrocarbons and sodium predominates in all waters. Also, all waters contain increased amounts of lithium (Li) and fluorine (F). Some waters are characterized by a significant content of free carbon dioxide (CO2), while others, in addition to carbon dioxide, also contain significant amounts of hydrogen sulfide. Due to its special balneological properties, all waters can be used for therapeutic purposes, either in the form of bathing at the appropriate temperature, drinking or inhalation, and in certain chronic diseases. Therefore, due to specific physical and chemical characteristics, all tested mineral waters of Sijarinska Banja can be used as an additional means of treatment within medical rehabilitation, according to the orientation indications given for each source separately.
