GOATMILK is a non-commercial festival of independent culture, which is organized annually in the village of Gorna Bela Rechka, municipality. Varshets. The idea of the festival, born in September 2003, is the result of an international meeting of like-minded people who unanimously decided that they wanted to return to this place.

The first GOATMILK "festival of memories" was held on May 24, 2004, when the village fair took place. The name is inspired by the extensive goat breeding and goat milk specialties in the area.

The organizer of the festival is the Foundation for New Culture - a non-governmental organization, a peer of the festival. It includes artists, journalists, scientists, teachers, writers and all kinds of artists.

The aim of the festival is to encourage the return to depopulated villages and to offer an alternative form of stage performance and communication between communities that do not otherwise occur. Each year the festival has a different theme, which the organizers and participants explore through different activities: Memory and Memories, Memories under the Walnut Shadow, Family / Family / Objects, Cyrillic, Bell, etc. Everyone can join as a participant or audience. There is no organized accommodation, usually overnight in tents or in Varshets.
