Description
It is held in the Valoga area, near the village of Ohoden, 25 km north of Vratsa. During the festival days, the participants live and work on a tourist bivouac next to the archeological excavations. The forum is attended by creative groups from Bulgaria with proven experience in the visualization of ancient rituals and ceremonies, archaeologists, students and teachers of archeology. The festival is organized in three sections. The Art section presents artistic reconstructions of ancient rituals and legends, as well as historical reconstructions presented by formations from the country and abroad. The scientific section includes round tables and discussions of archaeologists, scientists and representatives of various associations and institutes dealing with topics related to antiquity, ancient knowledge and ethnography, which present the latest developments in the world of archeology and ancient history. The third section - a youth experimental laboratory and an archeological school, is attended by young people from history clubs from schools in the country and archeology students. They are involved in workshops on experimental ceramics, processing and production of tools, jewelry and cult objects made of bone, in the harvest of einkorn with experimental replicas of authentic sickles, in an experimental workshop for ancient knots and knitting, in the production and tasting of einkorn bread, prepared according to an original recipe from 8,000 years ago, in the making of pottery, in the processing of wool, archery and an archeological school. The terrain where the event takes place is ennobled. There is a separate private parking. Temporary buildings necessary for the festival kitchen are made of natural materials, which includes a culinary reconstruction ""Neolithic cuisine"", and anyone can try a dish of goat meat with einkorn, black and yellow turnips, mustard and herbs, flavored with rock salt, as well as and bread made from einkorn. The antique dish is served in plates of bran that can be consumed. The tasting is according to ancient orders, typically in the Neolithic style - without utensils. The stages are open. All participants in the forum receive a statuette with the trademark of the festival - a graphic image of the jade amulet - the Mother Goddess, which was found in the area ""Valoga"". The amulet is unique for our lands and has a stylized shape of a woman giving birth. The festival of ancient cultures ""The Sun of Todorka"" is the only and unique in the country festival forum, with its own vision, combining art, history and real science. In addition, the use of innovative elements in the program of the event provides an opportunity for a new interesting look at ancient and traditional cultures. Another goal is the festival to gradually build the image of a favorite tourist product, contributing to the development and promotion of cultural and historical heritage, the traditions of our ancestors, the customs of the Bulgarian lands and lands inhabited by Bulgarians, as well as a cultural event for intercultural exchange, informal creative communication and training. The festival is offered free of charge to visitors.
