The Montenegrin or also known as Gigintsi Monastery is located near the village of Gigintsi, Pernik region. According to research, it probably originated in the XI-XII century on an ancient sanctuary. It was not destroyed during the Ottoman rule, but was abandoned after the Renaissance. In 2007 its restoration and restoration began. The eastern monastery wing, a new temple, a bell tower, a gazebo, fountains were built. An animal farm is being developed at the monastery, in which volunteers work in order to raise funds for the restoration of the monastery.
